My daughter Mo, just got back from her volleyball camp at the University of TN. She says that it was a pretty tough three days and looking at all the bruises, I would have to agree with her. But anyway, she came home with some great news. Her coachs for the weekend were probably the best that she could have had. One was a head coach from one of the better teams in the area that when in school played at Ohio st. The other is the head coach of South Carolina. The coach from USC told Morgan's high school coach that she wanted her to walk on to her team. Just that alone is awesome. And to top it off, the other coach wants her to play on her travel team this winter/Spring. To say that they were impressed would be an understatement.
The thing that you have to understand to rely understand why this might be a little more than awesomne is this. She doesn't fit the division one volleyball player specs so to speak. When she tried out her seventh grade year, she was cut because of how short she is. She almost didn't try out her next year. But when she did, she was up against 128 other girls. She made the team and since then has been a starter of both her school teams and travel teams. She is a fihter for sure, sometimes pushing way to hard.
I think that one reason that she pushes so hard is because she sees how this disease has affected me, and deep down understands that she could have it as well and wants to make every second count.
My prayer is that end never comes to be.
